The Hong Kong Athletes Career and Education Programme (HKACEP) of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) has launched an “Olympics Dreams Comes True” pioneer and experiential scheme. This Scheme was first launched in 2012, the aim is to help teenager students together with elite athletes who either are planning to retire or have retired to pursue their dreams in sports. Participating athletes of this scheme will come to school and become coaches to provide specific sports training to students, and identify students’ sports talents. Through long term and systematic teaching and spreading positive values of sports and the spirit of Olympism, students can be nurtured to discipline, persevere and build up good characters. The Scheme also aims to bring a positive impact on students’ physical fitness and establish a sporting culture in the school. A number of existing and retired athletes and coaches came and held some sports games, which allowed students to experience the spirit of Olympism and goodness of teamwork.
