The purpose of Chinese subject is： 

(1) Improve reading, writing, listening, speaking, thinking, aesthetic and self-learning skills;

(2) Cultivate interest in language learning, and favorable language learning attitude and habits;

(3) Cultivate tastes of aesthetics, and nurture temperament;

(4) Cultivate moral character, and enhance the sense of responsibility towards community;

(5) Good understanding of Chinese culture, and cultivate the sense of pride towards the country and nation.

Development approach 

The school hopes to improve the language literacy of students in both reading and writing. In terms of reading, our school helps students to facilitate their reading skills, increase their reading volume, and enhance their reading depth through reading Chinese classics. For writing, the school provides a platform at school website to showcase students’ works  as an encouragement for them to write.
