Courtesy Month
Our school held a succession of politeness month activities from 10th September to 24th October, with the purpose of cultivating our students’ courtesy and good manners.
The activities were as follows:
1. Encourage teachers and students to say “Good Morning, Greet others and Thank you”
For example, the prefects on duty at the entrance of the auditorium would hold up the "morning" card and take the initiative to greet their peers and teachers during the morning assembly. On Teacher Appreciation Day, when students gave gifts to staff, they also expressed their gratitude to them.
2. The school held a slogan creation competition and watched a short video, which reminded everyone of the principles of "put yourself in someone’s shoes" and "do not treat others the way we ourselves do not want". We have to accept and live with each other’s flaws and respect each other.
3. The school held an election on what the top ten polite behaviors on public transportations were. They did this by using IPADs to vote in Google Forms at the morning assembly and chose 3 polite behaviors. Most of the students thought that being quiet and not disturbing others is the most important thing. Everyone reminded each other to be a polite passenger.
